La Gazzetta dello Sport reports the attacking midfielder has a performance option in his deal with La Lupa and both parties are interested in extending his stay beyond June 2021.

The former Manchester United player is therefore only formalities away from signing a new deal until 2022, and the newspaper reveals it could happen before Christmas.

Mkhitaryan has contributed one goal and one assist in three appearances in the Europa League this term too.
