Milan are reportedly not considering selling Alessio Romagnoli this summer.

The captain has struggled with playing time this term and in recent weeks the centre-back has been placed on the bench by Stefano Pioli.

The captain has struggled with playing time this term and in recent weeks the centre-back has been placed on the bench by Stefano Pioli.

Milan are expected to activate the option to buy Fikayo Tomori from Chelsea for €28m and reports in Italian media claimed a sale of Romagnoli could help finance the English defenders permanent move.

But La Gazzetta dello Sport reports the 26-year-old, capped 12 times by Italy, is ready to fight for his place in the side.

Milan sit third in Serie A and if the Rossoneri qualify for the Champions League next season, they would need at least three top-level centre-backs.

The hypothesis of selling Romagnoli is therefore not taken into consideration, according to the newspaper.

Romagnoli has played 22 times in Serie A this term, but the report claims he is ready to accept continuing to compete for a place in the starting line-up.

The former Roma defender arrived at San Siro in 2015 and has played 221 competitive games for the Diavolo. His contract at San Siro expires in June 2022 and Milan are not considering to let him leave this summer.
