According to Calciomercato.com, Milan have already reached out to Monchi with the intention of learning his availability.
However, the website stresses ‘no real talks’ have taken place and that the Spaniard is only a ‘suggestion’ if Massimiliano Mirabelli departs this summer.
Mirabelli’s future has come under scrutiny following the Rossoneri’s disappointing campaign, despite sanctioning a €200m spending spree last summer.
Monchi, for his part, was linked with the Diavolo before replacing Walter Sabatini – another candidate for the role – at Roma.
