He had been frozen out by Cagliari in recent weeks after refusing to sign an extension and on deadline day was loaned to Chievo for the final six months of that deal.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Milan are in advanced negotiations with Agazzi and have agreed basic terms for him to arrive on a free transfer at the end of the season.

The Rossoneri could well deposit the contract with the Lega Serie A over the next few days, although it won’t actually begin until July 1 2014.
