Milan are reportedly stepping up the chase for Crotone forward Junior Messias, after it became clear Romain Faivre is staying at Brest.
The French side are not willing to sell Faivre, after Milan offered €10m for his services, and SportItalia reports the Rossoneri are now moving their attention elsewhere.
With rumours regarding complicated operations for Atalanta forward Aleksey Miranchuk and Napoli winger Adam Ounas, the Diavolo is focusing on Junior Messias.
The 30-year-old seems set to leave Crotone this summer and Sassuolo are reportedly entering the chase, in case Jeremie Boga leaves the Mapei Stadium.
The broadcaster claims Milan have made a move to get there first, as they are still looking to bolster their attack ahead of a busy season.
Junior Messias played 36 times in Serie A last term, scoring nine goals and contributing four assists, but was not able to help Crotone to safety in the top division.
However, with many admirers in the top flight, the Brazilian could return immediately.

He is a good option to replace Castillejo. His numbers from last season is very impressive and I like his playing style, but we need a quality player to rotate with Diaz more.

This is really awkward, certainly not the player we really need. Let’s face it, we have a good squad, in some respects indeed a very good one, but the main problem is that it lacks depth. We really need to bolster Pioli’s options, and Junior Messias… come on, maybe it’s a good player for a team like Crotone, but is not a trequartista worthy of team like ours…
Are you surprised? Anything cheap and not complicated or other clubs don’t really want we are linked with. We couldn’t even get the french kid Romain Faivre which would of been an upgrade.
This is really embarassing… a two-month soap opera with even two cracking playesr like Bernardo Silva and Isco to ultimately end up with the board signing a veteran guy from CROTONE… oh boy, thank goodness we already have a good team, even if a little faulty in squad depth. Anyway, this situation is still kind of pathetic…
