Pep Guardiola has praised the former midfielder’s coaching abilities and claimed the former Juventus player is destined for a top team.

Maresca was linked with a move to Parma during his career as a player, but seems set to arrive as a coach instead.

The 41-year-old played for Hellas Verona, Palermo, Sampdoria, Fiorentina, Bologna and Cagliari’s youth team during his career.

The report reveals he has entered talks with Parma and is only formalities away from signing a deal with the Ducali and thus end his stay at Manchester City after winning with the U23 squad.

Maresca has previously worked as an assistant coach at West Ham, Sevilla and Ascoli.
