Inter and Juventus have, according to Spanish newspaper AS, contacted Real Madrid left-back Marcelo’s representatives, but the Brazilian’s salary demands stopped the talks from advancing.

The newspaper claims the Serie A giants are interested in the Brazil international, who is currently behind Ferland Mendy in the pecking order at the Santiago Bernabeu.

AS reveals the 32-year-old was open to discuss with the Italians but that his salary demands stopped the negotiations.

The outlet says Marcelo wants to match the €8m a season, a fee currently not on offer by either of the two Serie A teams.

Marcelo moved to Real Madrid from Fluminense in January 2007 and has played 509 competitive games for Los Blancos, helping the side pick up 22 trophies, including four Champions League titles.
