There are multiple reports this evening that Lazio have agreed a two-year contract with free agent Daichi Kamada with help from sponsors.

The Japan international has been pushing for a move to Serie A all summer since his contract with Eintracht Frankfurt came to an end on June 30.

He had an agreement with Milan, which was then abandoned when directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara were fired, with Roma also engaging in talks.

However, they were all put off by his personal demands, which included a salary at €5m per season and a signing-on fee.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and Calciomercato.com, a verbal agreement has been reached this evening with Kamada’s representatives, but there is still no signature.

He is due to sign the two-year contract with an option for a third, which is worth €4m per season plus commissions amounting to circa €5m.

This reportedly only became affordable because Lazio are already working with sponsors Mizuno.

It remains to be seen how Lazio will do the deal, considering they have limited options for non-EU players.

  1. Kamada, Ricci and Gustav from Az Alkmaar in the coming 2 days and I say OK Lotito, the last one can arrive anytime till the market is open so finally he has a moment to breath but don’t be completely shut off and keep your eyes open for an opportunity big announcement.(imagine if the 3 above arrived 2 weeks ago and had all that time to acclimatise to the new environment. Anyway better later then never 👏)

C’mon Lazio and the fans as well show up as always and stay United!

    SFL🤍💙

  2. Not sure what that last sentence is supposed to mean. Lazio have one non-EU spot left, which Kamada will take. Nothing “remains to be seen” about how they can do it. This site’s reporting on Lazio news always has a negative slant to it.
