Kaio Jorge

Juventus have agreed personal terms with Kaio Jorge and his agent, claim Sportitalia, putting them on a par with Milan, while Santos want to sell him to Benfica instead.

The report had emerged earlier this evening that Juve sent a formal proposal to Santos.

It’s now clarified that was only written confirmation that they are in negotiations with the player and his representative, seeing as his contract expires in December 2021.

Once he is in the final months of his contract, a player is allowed to negotiate with other clubs.

Milan already did this and agreed personal terms with Kaio Jorge some time ago.

However, now Sportitalia maintain Juventus have done the same, so it remains to be seen who – if either – will strike a deal with Santos.

Benfica went a different route and are offering €10m to Santos, which includes the fee for Brazilian full-back Gilberto.

However, Kaio Jorge and his agent have set their sights firmly on Serie A and will not accept the Benfica transfer.

Santos are now faced with the need to either accept under €3m for Kaio Jorge now or risk losing him for free in January.
