Report: Icardi agrees renewal

Mauro Icardi has reportedly agreed an extension to his Inter contract, with a significant increase in wages.

The Argentinian striker’s situation has been one of the main concerns for the Nerazzurri in recent months, with reports linking their top scorer with an exit.

However, Gianluca Di Marzio’s website reports that an agreement has now been reached, with Icardi’s earning quadrupling to €4m per season.

The website reports that the deal will run until 2019, with the sticking point over image rights having been resolved.

Di Marzio believes that the player’s image rights will be split evenly between the club and Icardi, with the striker receiving a bonus for this year’s because of the delay in signing the contract.

Formalities have still to be completed, but the renewal is expected to be announced in a maximum of 10 days.
