Napoli defender Elseid Hysaj has reportedly handed in a transfer request, unhappy having to compete for a place in the side at the San Paolo.

The Albanian’s agent Mario Giuffredi revealed last month that his client won’t renew his contract with the Partenopei and now La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the 26-year-old has asked the club to leave this summer.

Hysaj is allegedly not happy to compete with Giovanni Di Lorenzo for a place in the side and with Kostas Malonas back, he also faces competition for a place in the centre.

The right-back has only appeared 13 times in Serie A this term and seems set to move this summer, as he enters the last year of his current contract in July.

Hysaj arrived on a €5m deal from Empoli in August 2015 and has played 187 games for the Azzurri so far.
