Paris Saint-Germain will reportedly not sign Alessandro Florenzi on a permanent deal and the Italy international will thus return to Roma this summer.

Tuttomercatoweb reports the Ligue 1 giants have decided against triggering an option to buy the full-back.

The 30-year-old has spent one season at Parc des Princes and will return to the Giallorossi ahead of 2021-22, but his future in the Italian capital is still uncertain.

Florenzi was loaned out to Valencia in January 2020 and spent six months in La Liga before moving to France last summer.

But as Jose Mourinho will replace Paulo Fonseca at the helm this summer, it’s not sure whether Florenzi will be part of the plans at Trigoria.

The Italy international has played 36 games across all competitions in 2020-21, but Paris Saint-Germain have decided against activating an option to buy the player and he will return to La Lupa, where his contract expires on June 30, 2023.
