Stephan El Shaarawy is on the verge of making a shock return to Roma one year after leaving the capital to join Shanghai Shenhua.
According to Sky Sport, “The Pharaoh” will return to his former club one year after his €16m move to Shanghai Shenhua.
Roma have agreed to sell their winger Justin Kluivert on loan to RB Leipzing and El Shaarawy is going back to the Stadio Olimpico to replace the Dutchman.

The former Milan starlet was keen to return to Serie A to earn a spot in Roberto Mancini’s Italy National team for Euro 2021 in the summer.
Two weeks ago, he was spotted at Lazio’s training ground to negotiate a possible move to Roma’s fiercest rivals. He had also been linked with a move to Juventus.
El Shaaraawy scored 40 goals in 139 games for Roma where he had played from January 2016 to June 2019.
