Former Juventus and Inter coach Antonio Conte has reportedly not ruled out a move to Manchester United, should the Red Devils sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

There are many rumours regarding the Norwegian coach after the 5-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Guardian claims ‘several players are questioning’ Solskjaer’s ability to ‘take them any further’, which has fuelled the rumours regarding a possible move for Conte.

Conte has been linked with a return to Premier League since the summer, involved in speculation regarding the positions at Tottenham, Arsenal and Newcastle United.

The former Italy CT is now being linked with the job at Old Trafford and Sky Sport Italia journalist Fabrizio Romano claims the former Chelsea coach has not ruled out replacing Solskjaer.

“Rumours about Antonio Conte ‘not considering’ Man Utd job were NOT true,” Romano said, before pointing out that there have been ‘no official talks’ between the two parties.

The report claims the board at Manchester United will meet to ‘decide in the next hours/days’.

Conte spent two years at Chelsea between 2016 and 2018, when he picked up the Premier League and the FA Cup with the Blues.

The 52-year-old left Inter after winning the Scudetto in 2020-21, his fourth Serie A title in total.

  1. I do not think that even Conte could turn around this club. He could give the players the kick up the butt that they deserve. But how can you improve Maguire the most overrated and over priced defender in the world. He is only given credit due to being English and in the PL. The British media hype many of their players. If he were to come to Serie a they would need to send him to Serie d for his apprenticeship.

  2. As much as I love Conte, he can’t win with Ronaldo as he will not buy into his system. If I was Antonio I would wait for the unlimited budget of Newcastle and win the league on the first go next season. Before you say WTF, remember he has done it twice already his first year at a club

  3. I don’t thin Man UTD will go after Conte. It’s a lot of work to change their shape to 3 at the back in the middle of the season and United players are already afraid of his meticulous approach to trainings. They’re a lazy bunch over there in the premier league, they don’t want to train at their maximum.
