However, Calciomercato is reporting leaks from a Catania courtroom where charges are being heard, indicating that Pulvirenti has admitted to fixing five matches last season.
Meanwhile, Lazio President Claudio Lotito has released a strong statement after media reports linked him to the scandal.
“I publicly condemn yet another attempt to discredit me by certain media, and to discredit the FIGC along with me,” the statement began.
“I refer to the stories published by some newspapers about my alleged involvement in the events under investigation by the judges in Catania.
“Page 468 of the judge’s order clearly states that the hypothesis that Lotito had some involvement in the outcome of the Catania-Avellino match on 29 March 2105 has not been confirmed by subsequent investigations.”
Lotito has not been charged in relation to the case, and there is no official suggestion he has done anything wrong.
