The newspaper explains the Nerazzurri have pinpointed five wingers in Bologna’s Simone Verdi, Sassuolo pair Domenico Berardi and Matteo Politano.
However, Chiesa – the fifth – would have emerged as their preferred option, with La Gazzetta noting Fiorentina could be tempted into selling for €50-60m.
Furthermore, while Napoli ‘made the first enquiries’, the Nerazzurri would have the advantage of being ‘liked’ by the 20-year-old’s camp.
Chiesa scored six and assisted nine in 36 Serie A appearances for the Viola during the 2017-18 campaign, while Candreva failed to register a single goal, although he notched up one more assist.
