Report: Cagliari part ways with Semplici

Cagliari have reportedly decided to sack coach Leonardo Semplici after a poor start to the 2021-22 campaign.

The Rossoblu have picked up one point in three games and Semplici, who guided the team to safety last term has reportedly been sacked by the club.

Semplici arrived at Cagliari this morning, ready to continue the preparations for the next game against Lazio on September 19.

Official: Di Francesco sacked by Verona

But the Casteddu have, according to Sky Sport Italia, decided to part ways with the former SPAL tactician.

The coach has been in charge of 19 Cagliari games and has picked up 1.37 points per game since replacing Eusebio Di Francesco last term.

Di Francesco also lost his job today, as Hellas Verona decided to part ways with the former Cagliari coach after only three games in charge and zero points in Serie A.

Semplici guided Cagliari through an unbeaten run of seven games towards the end of last term, to help Cagliari secure a new contract in the top flight.

Diego Lopez and Beppe Iachini have been mentioned as possible successors, with Claudio Ranieri also available.

Igor Tudor has reportedly terminated his deal with Juventus to take over Hellas Verona.
