Due to the lockdown in Italy, the 30-year-old will have to wait until the resumption before he can pen the new contract, but an ambitious Bologna side have started planning for the long run, aiming to build a squad that can fight for a place in Europe.
With 12 games remaining of the current campaign, the Rossoblu are five points behind Napoli at sixth and only two points behind Milan at seventh in Serie A.
Poli has played 23 games in the League, contributing two goals this season, adding to his total tally of nine goals in 90 games for the Rossoblu since he arrived in July 2017 on a free transfer.
