Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko seems set for a return to Milan, as his representatives and the Rossoneri have reportedly reached an agreement.

Il Corriere dello Sport reports the French midfielder has given the go ahead for a return to San Siro and that his entourage closed a deal with the Diavolo for his move to Milanello.

Milan in direct talks with Chelsea’s Bakayoko

The newspaper claims Milan will not negotiate with Chelsea and are hoping to secure the 27-year-old on loan with an option to buy.

The Blues have extended Bakayoko’s contract with one year until June 2023 and this will help facilitate his move to the Rossoneri.

Milan and Chelsea are, according to the outlet, in advanced talks and the midfielder, who had other options too, chose a return to Milan.

Bakayoko spent 2018-19 at San Siro, when Gennaro Gattuso was in charge, and played for the former Milan coach at Napoli last season too.

The former Monaco star has played 63 times in Serie A, scoring three goals in the process, one of them in the Diavolo colours.

  1. Apparently both he and Yacine Adli will come. Both were good signings, able to play different roles in midfield with quality. Therefore, with Kessie, Bennacer, Tonalli, Bakayoko and Adli I believe we will be well served in the sector. But we still need – and urgently – a high-level ‘trequartista’ / attacking midfielder, Brahim Díaz is obviously an excellent prospect, but it won’t be enough. I eagerly hope that one between Isco or Vlasic could be signed.
