Atletico Madrid are going all-in for Dusan Vlahovic and making an opening bid of €50m plus bonuses, but Fiorentina want at least €70m.
The 21-year-old is currently negotiating a new and improved contract at the Stadio Artemio Franchi that could well include a release clause set at €70m.
With that in mind, a figure close to that would tempt the Viola into reconsidering the sale now.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Atletico Madrid have pin-pointed the Serbian as their primary target now that Lautaro Martinez is committed to Inter.
The opening offer is reported to be €50m plus bonuses, but it is only a way of starting the negotiation process and put Atleti in front of competition from Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.
Vlahovic scored 21 goals in 37 Serie A appearances last season and he also found the net twice in seven senior caps for Serbia.
He was signed from Partizan Belgrade in 2018 for just under €2m and his current contract runs to June 2023.
