Reports in Italy suggested Gomez had asked to leave on a free transfer this winter, after a falling out with coach Gian Piero Gasperini.
A meeting could be decisive for the players future, but it seems unlikely that the captain, who fuelled the speculation by humming the Juventus hymn at the Allianz Stadium this month, will be able to restore the peace with Gasperini.
But the sale of Gomez is complicated, and the attacker has attracted interest from direct rivals like Inter and Milan, according to the newspaper.
Atalanta will therefore ask for compensation of at least €10m if the player moves this winter.
Gomez has a contract until June 2023 worth €2.5m a season and turns 33 in February. Gomez has played 10 Serie A games this term, contributing four goals and two assists in the process.
The former Catania forward moved to Atalanta from Metalist in September 2014 and has since established himself as one of the most important players in Bergamo.
