And respected Sky journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that Cellino has already been on the phone to the former Milan boss, asking him to replace current manager Brian McDermott.
The ex-Rossoneri man however, turned down the offer.
It now seems that Cellino will look to appoint a new manager with first-hand experience of English football.
