Reports in Italy suggest that Max Allegri met with Dan and Ryan Friedkin, so he’d be the favourite to take over if Paulo Fonseca were to be fired.

According to Radio Radio, the former Milan and Juventus coach had a personal get-together with the club’s new owners this week.

He had previously been reticent on the idea of joining the Giallorossi, but seems to be more open to the idea now.

Allegri has won the Scudetto at both Milan and Juve, taking the title five times in a row in Turin before he was fired.

There have already been reports of interest in Ralf Rangnick, either as a director of sport or in a more wide-ranging role covering that of coach too.
