Robin Olsen’s move to Lille collapsed, but the Roma goalkeeper could still end up in France for Stade Rennais.

The shot-stopper had been all set to join the Ligue 1 champions last week, but the negotiations suddenly hit the brakes.

It’s believed this is because LOSC only wanted a loan with option to buy, whereas Roma were determined to sell him outright.

Now Sky Sport Italia suggest the Sweden international could go to France anyway for Rennes instead.

Olsen just returned to base from an unsuccessful loan spell at Everton.

They are currently only showing interest, so it is early days to talk about a transfer, but Roma need to move Olsen on after signing Rui Patricio from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Olsen is also not named in the 25-man Roma squad going to Portugal for a pre-season training retreat.

The 31-year-old goalkeeper was purchased from FC Copenhagen for €9m in 2018, but never really managed to become a regular, having loan experiences at Cagliari and Everton.
