Rennes are well and truly making their presence felt ahead of tonight’s Europa League play-off with Milan, as up to 10,000 fans are travelling, they bought a page in a newspaper and rented an entire hotel lobby.
It kicks off at San Siro at 20.00 GMT and the second leg will be on French soil next Thursday.
The Rossoneri have home advantage for the first match, but there is definitely a strong presence for the Stade Rennais supporters in the city.
Circa 8,000 were believed to have made the trip across the border for this game, but the latest reports suggest it is closer to 10,000, and the club bought out the back page of sports newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Both clubs have red and black colours, while the message was written in both Italian and French.
“SRFC, from the first to the last minute, GIVE EVERYTHING. The pride, the passion and the fervour all have an appointment this evening at San Siro. There will be thousands of us to celebrate the love for our colours, red and black! Forza Rennes!”
There are so many Rennes fans in the city that the club has rented out an entire hotel lobby near the Piazza Duomo to act as an information point for them to get tickets, receive instructions on getting to and from the game, and even purchase merchandise.
