Renato Sanches made an Instagram post admitting he is ‘most frustrated’ with his injury record and insisting he ‘never deleted any photos’ of himself in the Roma shirt.

The Portuguese midfielder is on loan from Paris Saint-Germain with an option to buy that could become an obligation if certain conditions are met.

That has seemed increasingly unlikely, with reports that Roma were ready to interrupt the loan early and send him elsewhere, possibly to Olympique Marseille or Besiktas.

There were also suggestions Renato Sanches was dropping hints about that by removing images of himself in the Giallorossi jersey from his social media accounts.

This afternoon, he responded with an Instagram Live message.

“What I wanted most was to be in the field and do what I like the most. Unfortunately, I haven’t been very lucky with the injuries.

“The person who feels most frustrated and at the same time with the most desire to play again is me…

“I believe that everything passes and better moments will come. And finally I just wanted to mention that I never deleted any photos of Rome, it’s been more than 1 years since my profile picture was black.”

Renato Sanches has not made any mention of the fact that Roma have fired coach Jose Mourinho and that director of sport Tiago Pinto, who is also Portuguese, will be leaving next month.

The 26-year-old midfielder has managed only nine appearances for Roma this season, for a total 228 minutes of football.
