Sky Sport Italia reports PSG’s Renato Sanches is Roma‘s alternative to Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi.

The Giallorossi are still looking for midfield reinforcement after purchasing Houssem Aouar on a free transfer from Lyon.

Sassuolo’s Frattesi remains their primary target, but the competition to get the Italy international is stiff with Inter, Milan and Juventus also interested.

Therefore, Roma have a second option on their agenda, as per Sky Italia.

According to the Italian broadcasters the Giallorossi have set their sights on PSG and Portugal midfielder Renato Sanches.

The 25-year-old joined the Ligue 1 giants from Lille for €15 last summer but didn’t impress in his first season in Paris with two goals and one assist in 27 appearances.

According to the report, talks between Roma and PSG have not begun yet. However, the directors of the two clubs are on good terms having finalised a deal for the loan of Georginio Wijnaldum to the Stadio Olimpico last year.
