Football Italia is proud to bring you the chance to relive the best years of calcio in partnership with mobile game Retro Football Management.
Retro Football Management is the mobile gaming app that offers you the chance to manage almost any great team from world football and across any past season, including the very many classic years from across Serie A.
Now in partnership with Football Italia comes the Italian Football Challenge. Beginning with the 1991-92 Serie A season, players can take on the list of specific in-game management challenges, including:
- Win the league with Cagliari anytime
- Be top of the table after 10 games of the 1991-92 season
- Qualify for and then win the Champions League with Torino
- Finish in the top 12 with Ascoli
Completing these challenges in the highly addictive football management game unlocks further great seasons, teams and footballers from the calcio archives, in-game finances to reinvest in your team, and puts you in contention for some exclusive prizes coming up courtesy of Football Italia and Retro Football Management.
To take part, download Retro Football Management via this link (available for iOS and Android), create a new Game Slot, select ‘Italian challenge’ and ‘Play now’. Select the 1991-92 season and pick your team to manage, if you want to complete one of the challenges above or if you just want to relive an iconic campaign from the peninsula.
Play as the all-conquering Milan spearheaded by Marco van Basten and try and match their unbeaten run that year, or see if a Roberto Baggio-inspired Juventus or Gabriel Batistuta-led Fiorentina can usurp them at the top. You can try and take Sampdoria that one step further in the 1991-92 European Cup, or maybe take on one of the smaller sides with a reduced budget like Foggia and try to replicate Zdenek Zeman’s particular charm offensive.
With the Italian Football Challenge, you can manage any team in Serie A from 1991-92 – the season leading into Football Italia’s memorable coverage of Italy’s top flight throughout the 1990s and early 2000s.
The app is available for iOS and Android and can be downloaded here. For terms and conditions, please see @RetroFootyMan’s Twitter page.

What on earth is going on with Football Italia, can someone tell me who is the editor and the offices, I need to go and visit them and ask why such poor standards.
Gonna try it. I still play cm 01/02 and cm93-94 with dos box
I’m actually quite looking forward to trying this. Loved playing the early Champ Manager games.
@Slowpoke, LOL. It totally looks like CM when I first played it in the late 90s! The good old days!
This app is so fun, will check it out.
I like idea but I’m too lazy to play it. 🙂
I think @Gee needs to calm down a little
