Napoli are on the verge of extending the contract of Liverpool and Inter transfer target Piotr Zielinski with a new €100m release clause, it’s reported.

His current deal is due to expire in June 2021, but he has been in negotiations for an improved contract for months.

According to Il Corriere del Mezzogiorno newspaper, the terms have been agreed to keep him at the Stadio San Paolo until 2025.

The Poland international’s salary would be increased to €4m per season, approximately double what he currently earns.

Napoli purchased the player from Udinese in the summer of 2016 for €15.6m plus bonuses.

He spent practically his whole career in Italy, moving to the Udinese youth academy in 2011 and with a loan spell at Empoli from 2014-16.
