Ultras interrupted Saturday’s training session so the lead figure could lecture the players for around 15 minutes.
The power of the fans horrified some on-lookers, but Coach Reja assured it was a good experience.
“The fans really fired us up, so now it’s up to us to have the right aggressive and positive attitude,” he said in a Press conference.
“It wasn’t a protest as such, the supporters simply asked us to honour the jersey we wear. We want to do that by winning against Sassuolo.
“It’s difficult, but we have no more excuses or options at our disposal. We must get this stadium back to being a fortress.”
Reja is yet to manage a win since replacing sacked Stefano Colantuono, but did reveal he’s changing the system again.
“We will play with a 4-2-3-1, which is well-suited to the characteristics of the team. We don’t score enough goals and I hope German Denis can end his drought.
“The disciplinary issue is worrying too, as we had someone sent off in three of the last four games. It must be avoided.”
