Edy Reja believes the time has come for Lazio to get their first Europa League win against Zurich, “but we need our luck to change.”

The Biancocelesti are flying high in second place in Serie A, but have stuttered to a series of disappointing results on the continent.

“You just have to look at the table to realise how important this game is,” said the Coach.

Sporting Lisbon are already qualified from Group D with six points, followed by Vaslui on two, then Lazio and tomorrow's opponents Zurich on one point each.

“We have been very unlucky in Europe up until now. We created so many chances, but were unable to turn them into goals.

“Just look at the first leg against Zurich, as we were the only team playing attacking football, so it was a great shame to lose after conceding a goal like that.

“We have got to fight back and tomorrow all we must do is win. Of course, to achieve that, we need our luck to change.”

However, Reja must also take other factors into account and could well rest Miroslav Klose and Djibril Cissè.

Abdoullay Konko is struggling with a back problem and Hernanes still has a swollen ankle.

“We are not in great shape when it comes to fitness. Cissè and Klose ought to have a breather, while if Hernanes doesn't make it, then we could change system.”

Lazio are expected to move to a 4-4-2 rather than the 4-3-1-2 tactics, but either way Tommaso Rocchi should start.

While they risk going out of the Europa League in the opening round, Biancocelesti fans are dreaming of Champions League qualification.

“The club is growing and that is the objective. It would be fantastic to achieve a result like that and we do want to improve on last season.”
