Edy Reja felt Lazio “deserved better than a point” after their 1-1 draw with Milan and regretted their first half performance.
“There is some regret, especially as our performance deserved better than a point. We were on home turf and tried to win, but didn’t finish our chances,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.
“We moved well down the right and left, went round Milan and put a lot of crosses into the box. Miroslav Klose wasn’t well and he’s the only centre-forward we have with those characteristics, so we had to adapt.
“Perhaps both teams were timid after some problems during the week. In the second half we were more aggressive and raised the tempo, something we should’ve done in the first half too.
“I do believe we deserved to win, as Milan scored a goal with a deflected cross and had one chance from a set play, but not much else.
“We pushed down the right, where Kaka left spaces, but not with enough conviction in the first half. We are accustomed to the midfielders pushing up through the middle to meet the crosses, but that wasn’t happening either in the first half. After the break, the real Lazio emerged.
“Keita is happy to start wide, as he cuts in with his right foot, though he can also cross well with his left. I think he’s more suited to playing as a wide striker rather than a centre-forward.”
