Edy Reja's Lazio are one of the only Serie A clubs without a spate of injuries to deal with. “Not being in Europe is a real advantage.”

The Biancocelesti were leading the standings for some time and are currently in second place, but Inter, Juventus and Milan have a host of players missing.

“Let's touch wood first of all, but also recognise we have been very lucky up until now, seeing as there haven't been any serious muscular injuries,” said the Coach.

“Let's touch wood first of all, but also recognise we have been very lucky up until now, seeing as there haven't been any serious muscular injuries,” said the Coach.

“Not being in Europe is important in that sense and represents a real advantage. With fewer games to play and more time to train, it makes everything easier.

“I must also point out we have worked well and I must praise my staff, especially the fitness coach.”

This week President Claudio Lotito said he was in no rush to extend Reja's contract, as they already agreed on everything without the need for this paperwork.

“I can only say that there are no problems with President Lotito and we are in sync. Renewals are done at the end of the season, after having achieved results. If my work is considered positive, then we will talk about a new contract.”

Cristian Brocchi, Stefano Mauri, Stefan Radu and Andre Dias have recovered from injury niggles to start against Parma on Sunday.

Lazio squad: Muslera, Berni; Biava, Diakitè, Dias, Lichtsteiner, Radu, Garrido; Bresciano, Brocchi, Gonzalez, Hernanes, Ledesma, Matuzalem, Mauri; Floccari, Foggia, Rocchi, Zarate
