Edy Reja concedes Lazio needed “a bit of luck” to grab a point at San Siro even when taking a defensive approach.

“In order to take points off Milan on home turf, you need a bit of luck too,” said the Coach of their 0-0 draw.

“We suffered, but also played well in defence. We go home with a valuable point that will certainly do us good, especially for those who expected us to emerge defeated here.

“We kept the ball well and tried to hit Milan on the counter-attack, but when it came time to really push, we lacked the stamina.

“I am realistic. Milan had a few absentees tonight, but I told the lads we had to pick up points, as they had a reshuffled midfield. That is where we held out strongly and in defence too.”

Mauro Zarate was suspended with Tommaso Rocchi and Sergio Floccari injured, so Libor Kozak had another start after his brace against Fiorentina.

“A player of this physicality is to be held in high esteem,” added Reja.

“You can tell in training that he has an eye for goal. He has the right timing and, if he learns how to protect the ball, he can be truly brilliant.”
