“Spezia were the better team on the day, I’m not going to deny that,” Reina told Sky Sport Italia.

“We got the result that we really needed, we showed character, grit, determination, but we also were lacking something and there are many areas where we need to improve.

“It’s good we got the win, but there’s no denying we have to do better than this. We’ve got to analyse the game and discuss what errors we cannot repeat.

“Perhaps, subconsciously, our thoughts drifted to the Champions League, but big clubs have to always win and stay totally focused. That must be our step up in quality.”
