Pepe Reina admits Napoli “have to react” to recent defeats when they face Besiktas in the Champions League tomorrow night.
The Partenopei have lost their last two Serie A games, leaving them seven points adrift of Juventus at this early stage of the season.
“The desire is to respond, to show that we’re strong,” Reina said in the pre-match Press conference.
“Two weeks ago we looked like the best team in Europe, but now apparently we’re the worst – you need balance, and we have to find our certainties.

“The desire is to respond, to show that we’re strong,” Reina said in the pre-match Press conference.
“Two weeks ago we looked like the best team in Europe, but now apparently we’re the worst – you need balance, and we have to find our certainties.
“We have to play a good game to put ourselves in a good position in the group.
“We have to play our football, last year was a beginning and we had to get to know the Coach [Maurizio Sarri]’s ideas. Now we have certainties about what we have to do – when you lose, you have to react.
“I think the squad is humble, we know there are no easy games and that if we don’t play the way we can then we’ll lose.
“Defeats like this can happen, after Benfica we were happy, now we can’t be devastated after two defeats. We’re confident, and we’re going to play with ruthlessness.
“We take things a game at a time, there’s no other way. Now we’re thinking about Besiktas, then focus goes to Crotone. There’s nothing else to say.”
Tomorrow will be Reina’s 150th appearance in European competition, and the Spaniard is proud to have reached such a milestone.
“It’s an honour, every European game is a pleasure, something to be proud of. I represent the Napoli shirt in Italy and in Europe, in my head I’d be pleased to play another 50.
“You can feel the responsibility when you’re older, even more so in Naples. You can imagine how I sleep when things aren’t going well.
“I always feel the responsibility, but it’s a pleasure and a privilege to do this work.”
