Lazio’s new goalkeeper Pepe Reina has arrived in the capital to ‘lend a hand’ in the battle to ‘win something important’ and vows to ‘honour the jersey in every challenge’.
Reina left Milan one year early to join Lazio in their quest for silverware in 2020-21, as Lazio aim to challenge Juventus in Serie A and prepare for a return to the Champions League.
“I chose Lazio because they are an important reality in our football,” he told Lazio Style Challenge. “This is a project that wants to keep growing to win something important.
“I come with humility to lend a hand.”
Reina stressed that the group at the Olimpico know each other well, as they have worked together for a long time and wants to help them take advantage of their bond in the upcoming battles.
“This group have been working together for some time and has an automatism that must be exploited.
“Even greater cohesion within the group will be needed and it will certainly come.
“You have to be ready for anything. We want to do well in every competition that we will be called up to play in.
“We will do our best and honour the jersey in every challenge. This is football: I want to pass this on to the whole group.”
