Italy Under-21 international Vasco Regini will be at Sampdoria next season, while the club also bought Gianluca Sansone from Sassuolo.
There were many doubts over what Regini’s situation would be, as the defender is co-owned by Empoli and Sampdoria, spending last term in Serie B with the Tuscans.
Juventus had reportedly tried to intercept negotiations, hoping to buy out Empoli’s half of the contract, but today Sampdoria renewed the co-ownership status.
“We agreed a deal with Empoli. Next year he will play with us,” revealed Sampdoria director of sport Carlo Osti.
The Blucerchiati also bought out Sassuolo’s 50 per cent of Sansone, so they now own him outright.
