Referees Federico La Penna and Fabrizio Pasqua have been suspended for 13 and 16 months respectively after an investigation into fraudulent expenses.
The officials were placed under investigation after some discrepancies were found in the receipts they handed over for expenses.
Today the AIA (Italian Referees Association) ruled that La Penna would be suspended for 13 months and Pasqua for 16.
If the bans are not reduced on appeal, then this effectively means the end of their refereeing careers.
