Milan’s Champions League trip to Dinamo Zagreb will be officiated by Polish referee Szymon Marciniak, while Juventus take on Benfica watched by Srdjan Jovanovic of Serbia.

The group stage continues on Tuesday and both these Italian sides are playing catch-up for qualification.

The Rossoneri are currently on four points along with Dinamo Zagreb, while RB Salzburg have six points and Chelsea seven.

Their visit to Zagreb will be officiated by Marciniak with his fellow Polish referee Tomasz Kwiatkowski in the VAR booth.

Marciniak already officiated Inter’s extraordinary 3-3 draw with Barcelona this month and June’s 0-0 Nations League draw between Italy and England.

However, his only previous Milan match was a 3-2 defeat to Liverpool in September 2021.

Juventus have only three points from four Champions League games and are on the verge of an early exit from the tournament, potentially not even getting third place and a Europa League spot either.

They visit joint leaders Benfica on Tuesday and the referee assigned to this game by UEFA is Serbia’s Jovanovic, with German Marco Fritz as the VAR.

Benfica will be pleased to see Jovanovic, as he was officiating their 3-1 Champions League qualifying round win away to Midtjylland in August.

He also oversaw Portugal’s 4-0 Nations League victory away to the Czech Republic in September.

Jovanovic’s only previous Juventus match was a humiliating 4-0 defeat away to Chelsea in November 2021.

However, Benfica won all three of the times this referee was involved.
