Michele Contento, goalkeeper for Unione Fincantieri Monfalcone in the Friulian division of the Seconda Categoria, was sent off after just six minutes against San Canzian Begliano for pulling down a striker after a mistake.
He spoke to Telefriuli after the match, and channeled the spirit of Buffon.
“What do you want me to tell you?” Contento asked, visibly holding back laughter.
“In my opinion a Second Categoria referee can’t come to Monfalcone and be allowed to not have the right sensibility, and send off a lad of 40 for a penalty which was… clear.
“If he gives a penalty like that and sends me off after three minutes, it means instead of a heart he has a case of beer”.
