Udinese director Pier Paolo Marino complained about a free kick awarded to Juventus, but according to Italian papers, referee Daniele Chiffi took the right decision.
A Cristiano Ronaldo brace helped the Old Lady seal a crucial 2-1 win away at Udinese, but Marino voiced his frustration after the final whistle yesterday.
“The Ronaldo free kick that led to the penalty should’ve been a free kick in Udinese’s favour instead,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“I am a veteran of football, so I’ve seen before those who cling to complaining over the lack of first half stoppages to intimidate the referee.”
However, Italian papers wrote Chiffi took the right decision.
‘The images prove that Cuadrado gets on the ball before Stryger Larsen,’ wrote La Gazzetta dello Sport.
‘If Chiffi had ignored the contact, it wouldn’t have been a scandal, but if that’s a foul, then the free kick must be in Juventus’ favour.’
Tuttosport also wrote the contact between Cuadrado and Stryger Larsen was worth a free kick for the Old Lady.
La Gazzetta dello Sport and Il Corriere dello Sport rated Chiffi 6/10, slighly more than Tuttosport’s 5.5/10.
