Franck Kessié had a goal disallowed for a handball in the first half after a VAR check.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport pointed out, there aren’t clear images that show Kessié’s touch with his arm.
The pink paper suggested VAR may have seen a different replay, that clearly showed Kessié’s foul. Otherwise, it would have been wrong to disallow the goal because VAR would not have spotted a ‘clear mistake’.
Referee Slavko Vinčić is also being questioned a second yellow card he failed to show to Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay who intentionally fouled Rade Krunic at the edge of the Red Devils’ box.
The referee was rated 5/10 by La Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttosport and 6/10 by Il Corriere dello Sport.
Simon Kjaer said it was a mistake to disallow Kessié’s goal and Stefano Pioli claimed the former Atalanta insisted he hadn’t touched the ball with his hand.
