Il Corriere dello Sport, however, points out the referee Marco Di Bello used the same judgement for an Achraf Hakimi tackle on Henrikh Mkhitaryan inside Inter’s box.

Inter protested for a presumed Jordan Veretout foul on Nicolò Barella before Roma’s opener, but the French midfielder stole the ball from the Italy international’s feet without committing an infraction.

Gazzetta, Tuttosport and Corriere dello Sport also report Romelu Lukaku should not have been booked for a foul on Chris Smalling. The former Manchester United striker touched the ball before colliding with his opponent.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli were deservedly given a penalty against Udinese after a VAR check while it was fair to withdraw a penalty for Fiorentina against Cagliari as Dusan Vlahovic was not fouled by Christian Oliva, but it was the Tuscans’ striker who kicked his opponent’s foot instead.
