The Uruguayan striker has struggled with injury during this past season with Nacional and had previously hinted at walking away from the game at the campaign’s conclusion.

However, the former Inter man, who spent 11 years at San Siro, is having second thoughts.

“They are already planning the farewell game, but I still do not know whether I will continue to play,” Recoba commented on radio programme Peloteando en la Oral.

“The truth is that I would like to stop having left a better memory. The last season was really hard. If I can play here [at Nacional] again, I would be overjoyed. Otherwise, I will continue elsewhere.”

Recoba was talking alongside former Inter teammate and fellow studio guest Ivan Zamorano.

“He is one of those who helped me the most during my time at Inter,” considered Recoba of the retired Chile international.

“We were at a very important time in life and friends will support you forever. Although, at the time at Inter he was the spoiled son of Moratti…” joked Zamorano in response.
