Croatia will face England at Euro 2020 on Sunday, but Ante Rebic is ‘honestly surprised’ not to be up against his Milan teammate Fikayo Tomori.

The centre-back was not even called up for the provisional squad by coach Gareth Southgate, despite a very impressive six months on loan from Chelsea.

The Rossoneri are due to activate their €28m option to make his move permanent.

“I am honestly surprised that Tomori wasn’t called up, because the choice of England defenders all seem to have the same characteristics,” said Croatia international Rebic.

“Fikayo is aggressive and very quick. We talked and he told me that he didn’t think he’d be called, but I was still frankly surprised.”
