Milan forward Ante Rebic should be back in the squad for the Derby della Madonnina against Inter on Sunday.

The Croatian seems set for a return to the fold this weekend, as he started the training with an individual programme, but then joined the group for the remainder of the session.

Coach Stefano Pioli will evaluate the former Eintracht Frankfurt winger, but Calciomercato.com reports the former Inter coach is optimistic ahead of the game against the Nerazzurri.

Rebic, who moved to Milan in September 2019, has disposed of the ankle problem that kept him out for the last five games across all competitions.

The 28-year-old has played 10 times in 2021-22, contributing one goal in the Champions League and another in Serie A.

Pioli might bring the forward on the bench and have him as an option during the match, but is expected to give Alexis Saelemaekers, Rafael Leao and Brahim Diaz a place in the attacking trident behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
