The 24-year-old Serbian forward has not had an easy time in the Spanish capital following his €63m move from Eintracht Frankfurt back in July 2019. He’s mostly played a bit-part role for Los Blancos, scoring only three goals in 51 appearances, although the vast majority of these came from off the bench.
As reported by La Nazione, Jovic is keen to relaunch his career in the upcoming season and he was convinced to join Fiorentina by his compatriot Milenkovic, who detailed the strengths of coach Vincenzo Italiano and the project in Florence.
Real Madrid and his agent Fali Ramadani have therefore received clear indications from the 24-year-old that the Viola are his preferred destination, and talks are now ongoing between the clubs.
The Spanish side are reportedly open to sending the Serbian forward to Florence on loan without an obligation to buy clause attached, making a deal more accessible for Fiorentina.
