According to Cadena Ser, Fiorentina offered Dusan Vlahovic to Real Madrid in January, but the Merengues turned down the proposal waiting for Kylian Mbappé in the summer.

Vlahovic joined Juventus on a permanent €80m move from Fiorentina in the winter transfer window and the 22-year-old has already scored his first goal with the Bianconeri.

The Serbia international had attracted interest from many other clubs in Europe, including Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, but picked the Old Lady instead.

According to Cadena Ser, Fiorentina called Real Madrid as soon as they received an offer from Turin. They informed the La Liga giants about the Old Lady’s proposal, knowing that Carlo Ancelotti’s side would put even more money on the table.

The La Liga giants were ‘tempted’ to get Vlahovic, the second-most prolific striker in 2021 after Robert Lewandowski.

However, they opted to stick to their original plan which should see Kylian Mbappé move to the Estadio Bernabeu as a free agent at the end of the season.

German paper Bild reported two weeks ago that the Merengues have already an agreement in principle with the French superstar.
