Real Madrid present Florentino Perez has targeted Milan forward Rafael Leao after missing out on the signing of Kylian Mbappe, according to reports in Spain.

Mbappe had been heavily linked with a move to Madrid for the majority of the past year but, in the end, opted to stay with Paris Saint-Germain.

Madrid, who won their 14th Champions League on Saturday following a 1-0 win over Liverpool, have been left to look at alternatives.

And Sport report they are turning their attentions to Leao, who was voted Serie A MVP following his leading role in helping Milan win the Scudetto for the first time in 11 years, and the 22-year-old is “very close to signing.”

Recent reports in Italy have suggested the Portugal international has a release clause worth €150 million, though the report suggests Madrid will look to do a player exchange.

The claim is Los Blancos will offer forward Luka Jovic and winger Marco Asensio as part of the deal.

  1. Vinnie, A. Leao is not worth 150m. B. If they offer Jovic and Asensio plus around 60m it solves almost all of our problems in one fell swoop. We get a striker, a RW and Origi can play as LW. We’d had enough money then to grab a top AMC and even go for that luxury CB buy the clubs seem bent on making, despite Kalulu’s season plus Sanches. And we’d still have another 20-30m to play with from the 60m originally designated by the club for this summer. It’s every hole fixed. This is how you build a team. Not having two or three really good players and eight or nine scrubs.

  2. If they pay the release clause and the player wants to go then there’s nothing Milan can do but personally I wouldn’t sell him even for 150m cash.

He could be a one man games changer in the future if he keeps developing and become more consistent. There are less than half a dozen of that kind of players in the world right now imo.

BUT, I still believe this is fake news. Think about it, Vinicius and Leao can NOT play in any other position other than left wing. Half their talent will be gone in another position. This doesn’t make sense at all.
